Every successful real estate agent brings an entrepreneur’s heart to the delivery of topnotch service. That’s Heather Johnson, pairing self-motivation and an entrepreneurial spirit with teamwork and finely honed communications skills. She is available to match her clients with the services they need, when they need them.
Heather was born in Mechanicsburg to a military family and raised in Washington State by a single mother. She returned to the Mechanicsburg area at 18 and built a life as a devoted mom and, for 14 years, owner of a residential-cleaning business she founded.
She sold that business as her life evolved and she found her true calling in real estate. Working for a small realty firm in Mechanicsburg, she discovered the flexibility to be with family while also making connections in the community and among clients who appreciate her hands-on approach.
She joined RSR in January 2018, impressed by its teamwork ethic and family feel.
“I look at real estate as a lifestyle, not as a job,” Heather says. “This is somebody’s home we’re talking about. It’s more than likely the largest transaction that most people will make in their lifetime, and getting it right is just as important to me as it is to them. I am constantly in contact so they know I’m on top of things and keeping them in the loop.”
Heather is the mom of a 21-year-old daughter, 10-year-old son, and 26-year-old stepson with special needs. Living in the Mechanicsburg area, her life is “soccer, soccer, soccer,” not just with her young son but as a player in a women’s league. The family enjoys outdoor excursions together – fishing, hiking, kayaking.
She leads the Do Something group at Christ Community Church. The street missions team performs such direct service as collecting items for Shalom House, a Harrisburg women’s and children’s shelter, and stuffing 300 backpacks with school supplies for disadvantaged students every summer. She is even working on a project to deliver quantities of “The Shoe that Grows,” a low-cost shoe that can grow five sizes, to shoeless children in Haiti, whose bare feet keep them from attending school and leave them vulnerable to soil-transmitted diseases.
“I have a servant’s heart,” Heather says. “I love to love people. I feel very fortunate that I am where I am in life, compared to where I was. I want to give back and help people realize they can do it, too. It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it.”
